About the Role
Serve as the key technical interface between customers and global engineering and manufacturing teams, leading customer-facing engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate connector and interconnect solutions.
- Support early-stage design activities, technical proposals, product demonstrations, and design reviews.
- Drive customer design-in and design-win activities.
- Translate customer requirements into product and engineering specifications.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
- Support NPI, ECN, DFM, FAI, product qualification, and validation.
- Coordinate sample evaluation, testing, and customer approval.
- Troubleshoot technical and product issues and drive cross-functional resolution.
- Gather customer feedback, application insights, and competitive intelligence to support product strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of Application Engineering / Field Application Engineering experience.
- Strong background in connectors, interconnects, or precision electronic components.
- Deep understanding of connector design, materials, and manufacturing processes including stamping, molding, and assembly.
- Experience supporting global customers and customer-facing technical projects.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese for business and technical communication.
- Familiarity with FMEA, SPC, 8D, PPAP, and APQP.
- Experience supporting product development from concept through mass production.
- Experience working with global OEMs and engineering teams.
- Knowledge of high-speed, RF, automotive, consumer electronics, or other advanced interconnect applications.
