About the Role

S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual for our metal-enclosed switchgear assembly function. As an Assembler – MES, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.

Responsibilities

Assemble basic mechanical parts using hand and power tools to fasten components.
Inspect mechanical components to identify defects and ensure quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and quality concerns.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and report any safety hazards.
Complete in-house training to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials.
Use overhead crane, ladders, and material handling equipment to move materials.
Meet department targets and adhere to quality and safety standards.
Comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

Requirements

0-1 year of experience in assembly with a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes, follow assembly instructions, and use various hand/power tools to assemble products.
Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers.
Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.
Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
Ability to work independently and meet the requirements of assigned materials requests.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly.
Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs.
Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1km).
Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.
Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.
