About the Role
The Finance and Regulatory Reporting Oversight (FRRO) team performs review and challenge activities for capital management, planning, forecasting, interpretations, calculations, Resolution Planning, and FED and FDIC regulatory reporting. The Expert Risk Analyst supports the Segment Risk Manager in overseeing capital and regulatory reporting risk within their assigned segment, interacting directly with Finance members to challenge their activities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior individual contributor and department subject matter expert.
- Interact directly with Finance team members to conduct effective challenge of Finance related processes within areas of capital management, planning and forecasting, capital interpretations, capital calculations, Resolution Planning and FED and FDIC regulatory reporting.
- Set tactical direction for enhancing the analytical capabilities of the FRRO function, strategic initiatives, and process improvements.
- Communicate findings to Finance team members, forming strategic relationships with department peers and senior leadership.
- Set timelines, expectations, and negotiate across departments to drive process improvement initiatives, implement changes to methodology, and enhance/streamline processes.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to junior staff on data analysis, risk reporting, risk identification, risk policies, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and develop knowledge in others on standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the risk analytics field.
- Assist with regulatory exams, responses to regulatory requests, feedback, and Internal Audit exams/reviews.
- Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and issues raised by external regulators.

- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/analytical discipline (e.g., Finance, Accounting or Economics) and a minimum of seven years’ experience in a risk or business quantitative position, including a minimum of two years' experience in capital, regulatory reporting, or treasury risk management.
- OR a combined nine years’ work experience and/or higher education with a minimum of seven years' relevant work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory guidance on prudent capital planning and stress testing, Resolution Planning, and/or regulatory reporting, including best practices and industry norms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to communicate concepts/theories and develop alternative recommendations.
- Ability to make effective presentations to all levels of the organization.
