About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer (CE) to lead an established and rapidly expanding engineering team in the CEMA Business Area. The CE will act as the 'hands on' technical lead, ensuring the viability, fitness for purpose, and satisfaction of customer needs for systems, products, and services. This role is crucial for protecting the warfighter through innovative Electronic Warfare (EW) and EO/IR Solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leads system architecture design and optimization activities, trades, and analyses.
- Ensures system design and implementation meet technical requirements and customer/mission needs within allocated engineering cost and schedule.
- Ensures system design is realizable, maintainable, supportable, and testable.
- Drives technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation/realization.
- Serves as the technical interface to the Customer, Program Management Office, and executive leadership.
- Understands requirements, missions, use cases, and constraints.
- Manages technical risks and issues, including impact assessment, mitigation, minimization, and closure plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or a combination of education and professional experience.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in the design, development, and integration of complex hardware/software-based systems (e.g., RF, embedded, communications, or control systems).
- Possess an Active US Government security clearance (or ability to possess TS).
- Demonstrated success leading technical teams and overseeing full-life-cycle development and test activities.
- Experience leading the development of complex RF or EW systems.
- Ability to develop system architectures from concept through implementation.
- Proven experience capturing, documenting, and translating requirements for RF or related systems.
- Experience in generating/presenting technical information to multi-tiered audiences, including upper management and customers.
