About the Role
We are an established, well-equipped, progressive, AAHA-accredited companion animal hospital seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician for our Tuesday overnight shift. This role is crucial for providing 24/7 nursing care to hospitalized and boarding pets, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive overnight nursing care for hospitalized and boarding patients.
- Monitor patients throughout the shift and recognize changes in their condition.
- Perform prescribed treatments and patient-care tasks.
- Ensure patients remain safe, clean, comfortable, and appropriately cared for overnight.
- Follow established treatment plans and hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient information and treatment documentation.
- Keep patient-care areas clean, organized, and ready for the medical team.
- Use sound judgment and technical knowledge while working independently.
- Communicate important patient updates and concerns to the appropriate members of the veterinary team.
Requirements
- Previous veterinary technician experience required.
- Must be comfortable working independently and providing overnight care with a high degree of autonomy.
- Confidence working independently with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong patient-monitoring and nursing-care skills.
- Ability to perform prescribed treatments accurately and reliably.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Sound judgment and the ability to recognize changes in a patient’s condition.
- Dependability and an excellent work ethic.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Compassionate and attentive approach to hospitalized and boarding pets.
- Ability to follow treatment plans, safety procedures, and hospital protocols.
- Availability to work the Tuesday overnight shift.
