About the Role
The Forklift operator is responsible for the safe transfer of finished product from the Palletizing area to the cooler and/or hot tunnel area(s), ensuring safe operation of equipment and handling of finished product/goods.
Responsibilities
- Moving pallets into the Hot Room / Cooling tunnel
- Removing pallets from the cooling tunnel
- Placing pallets in designated area (storage or staging for shipping)
- Scanning product using SAP system
- Perform required safety checks on equipment prior to use
- Follow all Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures
- Documentation in records for tracking of product movement
- Ensure skids are in good condition prior to loading / unloading
- Assist where needed to ensure organized workflow
Requirements
- Capable of lifting up to 20 kg
- Previous forklift experience required
- Forklift Certification and experience (counterbalance, reach)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Basic problem solving and math skills
- Comfortable working in a cool environment
- GMP’s and WHMIS
- Grade 12 diploma
- Bilingualism is required as the position involves frequent communications with our partners, our factories, and our headquarters located outside Quebec.
