About the Role
The Analyst, Solutions (Intermediate or Senior level) will be part of the Delivery, Data Squad, Life Insurance team, contributing to Wawanesa's success by analyzing, designing, documenting, testing, and supporting technology solutions that meet business stakeholder requirements. The ideal candidate enjoys working within an Agile Scrum team that delivers high-quality solutions rapidly through collaboration, continuous improvement, and quality-focused practices. You have experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or quality analysis, along with strong technical skills in databases, system integrations, and data-driven applications. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), a solid understanding of data flows between integrated systems, and knowledge of data modeling concepts. Candidates who demonstrate curiosity or have experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance analysis, automation, decision-making, or operational efficiency will be well-positioned for success in this evolving role.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, and documentation of system and business requirements for application enhancements and projects.
- Lead requirements definition sessions with operations and systems teams.
- Collaborate with numerous departments to ensure software quality.
- Provide technical and operational direction for developers and analysts.
- Lead the resolution of system and business requirements issues.
- Create test strategies, plans, and scenarios based on requirements documentation and defect resolution.
- Coordinate and support planning and execution for projects and initiatives, including resource allocation.
- Evaluate and track the progress of assigned work.
- Apply current practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Identify and lead process and procedure improvements.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on current system standards and IT (Information Technology) established methods.
- Collaborate with business partners to understand their current and emerging needs, while keeping abreast of industry trends in business and technology.
- Lead communications on system solutions in both operational and technical terms.
- Analyze and interpret SQL queries to assist with data validation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Review and document integration payloads [e.g., JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Extensible Markup Language (XML)] exchanged between applications to ensure data accuracy and system compatibility.
- Collaborate with developers and architects to understand and contribute to data modeling efforts.
- Explore and evaluate opportunities to leverage AI or machine learning tools to enhance solution analysis, data insights, and process efficiency.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, quality assurance, or a related role. At least five years of experience is an asset.
- Post-secondary degree or certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting, enhancing, and troubleshooting business-critical applications, data solutions, and operational processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to determine root causes and recommend effective solutions.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technology and data solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality results.
- Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working effectively within cross-functional teams utilizing Agile and Scrum methodologies and continuous delivery practices.
- Experience analyzing business and data requirements, data flows, integrations, and end-to-end system processes across multiple platforms.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL concepts, data modeling fundamentals, and system integration.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, troubleshoot, and validate SQL queries.
- Experience writing business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, functional requirements, and solution documentation.
