About the Role
The PIE is seeking a creative and commercially minded Digital and Community Marketing Executive to expand, engage, and understand its global community of international education professionals. This role involves social media, content creation, community engagement, website management, and lead generation, with a focus on translating engagement into audience insights and qualified leads.
Responsibilities
- Manage The PIE's social media channels (LinkedIn & Instagram focus) aligned with audience and commercial goals.
- Create engaging written, visual, and video content for The PIE's events, journalism, talent services, people, and expertise.
- Test new content formats and analyze performance data to identify effective strategies.
- Collaborate with the Editorial team, maintaining a clear distinction between journalism and marketing content.
- Identify individuals and organizations showing significant interest in The PIE and convert engagement into marketing-qualified leads (MQLs).
- Analyze the broader customer journey, including emails, event pages, and webinars, beyond single posts.
- Utilize HubSpot and other data sources to build a comprehensive understanding of audience engagement and commercial signals.
- Share leads and insights with the Sales team, providing context for follow-up.
- Assist in refining lead-scoring criteria with the Growth Marketing team.
- Manage the LinkedIn inbox and create the LinkedIn newsletter, promptly addressing commercial inquiries.
- Build and maintain event websites with clear calls to action for attendance, sponsorship, or participation.
- Implement SEO best practices to enhance organic visibility.
- Own and improve non-news pages on thepienews.com.
- Enhance website user journeys and conversion rates using engagement data.
- Coordinate The PIE's presence at external industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to leverage events for network, audience, and commercial growth.
- Brief and manage creative suppliers, including photographers, videographers, and social wall providers.
- Provide design support for social graphics, mailers, and website assets, and assist the Graphic Designer during peak periods.
Requirements
- Experience managing professional social media channels, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Strong video creation and editing skills, with the ability to produce content and messaging quickly.
- Excellent copywriting skills, adaptable across various platforms and tones.
- Experience creating social-first visual and/or video content.
- Good understanding of social media analytics and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with digital marketing funnels, lead generation, and MQLs.
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) or a strong willingness to learn.
- Experience with CMS platforms and webpage development/maintenance.
- Practical understanding of SEO principles.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Confidence in managing external suppliers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Marketing, Sales, Editorial, and Events teams.
- Experience in events, media, B2B marketing, or international education is advantageous but not essential.
