About the Role
Join Global News Toronto as an Affiliates Coordinator, playing a key role in a fast-paced national newsroom. You will support morning shows and connect audiences coast-to-coast by powering the flow of breaking news and content across broadcast and digital platforms. This is an opportunity for a technically skilled, detail-oriented, and team-focused media professional to contribute to impactful storytelling within a leading Canadian news organization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the movement of content between stations, digital, and other divisions of Global News and Corus.
- Facilitate and coordinate double enders for affiliate radio and TV stations.
- Perform basic editing of material for multiple platforms.
- Download and edit content as required.
- Coordinate distribution of raw material and packages through Media Net and Grass Valley for Affiliates and Online.
- Coordinate Network Pool Feeds.
- Utilize knowledge of FTP, satellite, and fibre bookings and work with multiple file types.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- University or college degree in broadcast journalism or related field.
- Experience in a feed center or resource desk with a multi-platform workflow.
- Strong technical skills with knowledge and experience in ingest, feed coordination, file transfers, and editing.
- Editing skills and familiarity with Grass Valley and Open Media.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
- Capability to work with tight deadlines while using sound judgment on news decisions.
- Proven leadership and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
