About the Role
Gallagher Re is seeking a dynamic and proactive professional to join the UK & Ireland Actuarial team in London. This role involves collaborating with brokers, actuaries, account handlers, and catastrophe modellers to deliver exceptional results for a large and diverse client base. You will provide analytical expertise across various lines of business, engage with reinsurers, and contribute to innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Play a key part in strategic reviews of reinsurance strategies for clients.
- Develop portfolio of renewals and deepen relationships with clients, brokers, and reinsurers.
- Lead on pricing across casualty and property lines of business for the UK and Ireland.
- Oversee associated projects involving reserving and capital elements.
- Drive analytical broking discussions with reinsurers to help clients achieve optimal reinsurance terms.
- Articulate the value in reinsurance to clients, providing insight on market pricing.
- Build a network of analytical and broking contacts across the market.
- Lead or participate in RFPs for reinsurance strategies placements.
- Manage and mentor junior colleagues.
- Develop technical and innovative solutions to modelling or data issues.
- Work collaboratively with advisory and capital solutions teams to create thought leadership.
Requirements
- Proven work experience, preferably with some reinsurance knowledge.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Sound oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to process and interpret data quickly, creatively, and accurately.
- Ability to handle contending priorities and delegate tasks.
- Ability to prioritise risks to manage concurrent workflow.
- Team and project management skills.
