About the Role

The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight, coordination, and organization of activities appropriate for participants' physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth. This role assists the Program Director and Assistant Program Director in providing quality programming for the community's participants and offers oversight assistance with staff.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision to staff and participants to ensure safety and ratio protocols are met.
Maintain participant files and records and assist with data entry as required per DYCD.
Maintain accurate attendance records on a daily basis.
Assist with participant arrival and dismissal.
Communicate with participants and families as required.
Model, enforce, teach, and develop age-appropriate social, physical, and emotional behaviors.
Lead or assist in the development and implementation of outreach and deliverable programs.
Create and facilitate a safe, fun, and visually appealing productive learning environment for youth.
Employ positive behavior management strategies for disruptive and negative behaviors.
Demonstrate positive leadership and act as a positive role model to participants.
Participate in ongoing professional development.
Perform set up and clean up duties daily in alignment with Department of Health regulations and UAU policies.
Abide by all safety protocols as outlined by the Department of Health/OCFS, DYCD, and UAU.
Assume the responsibilities of the Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director in their absence.
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective.
Must be culturally competent.
Must pass reference checks and background checks as designated by DOH, DYCD, and UAU.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to conduct and complete work independently.
Willing to take initiative and be flexible when needed.
Excels working in a collaborative environment to achieve target objectives and outcomes.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
