About the Role
As a key member of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting automated production equipment and mechanical components used in dairy product manufacturing, while ensuring a safe plant working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Utilize all technical skills required for dismantling, installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control circuits, and electrical and mechanical machine failures.
- Troubleshoot and repair various programs, including Allen Bradley.
- Read and understand programming.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Complete all pertinent documents and reports accurately and legibly.
- Perform building and machine electrical work.
- Perform maintenance work outside of electrician duties.
- Work at various heights.
- Identify, problem-solve, and research alternatives within the scope of the job.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Electrician license.
- Experience and knowledge of basic TIG welding of steel and stainless steel.
- Experience with machine troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience and working knowledge of pneumatics and control circuits.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.).
- Good reading, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
- Bilingualism is required for frequent communications with partners, factories, and headquarters outside Quebec.
