About the Role
At GFL, Roll Off Drivers are essential to our commitment to safety, efficiency, and premier customer service. You will operate heavy collection equipment, perform daily safety inspections, and ensure clean and smooth community operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Roll Off truck along assigned routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs and paperwork.
- Collect residential waste and recycling materials in strict accordance with route schedules and corporate safety protocols.
- Skillfully operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
- Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
- Maintain high route productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
- Work closely with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or AZ) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
- Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
- Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.
