About the Role

The Financial Analyst, FP&A prepares standard and ad-hoc financial reports for practice group leaders and senior managing partners to aid in understanding results and guiding business decisions. This role operates under general supervision, relying on limited experience and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports summarizing key performance indicators and profitability at the practice group, office, and attorney level.
  • Support financial managers in designing and preparing the monthly financial reporting package.
  • Participate in monthly review calls with senior management and address follow-ups.
  • Configure specifications to accurately and efficiently extract data from the Firm’s financial reporting software.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve inquiries related to financial matters.
  • Collaborate with other analysts within the team and cross-functionally to resolve issues.
  • Perform ongoing audits of financial system data to ensure data accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and the analysis of lateral hires.
  • Support the maintenance of the Firm’s financial software and reporting tools.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual bank surveys.

Requirements

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Familiarity with financial reporting software
