About the Role
Responsible for providing professional, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverages to guests, interacting with the public, and maintaining knowledge of menus and daily features. All duties must be performed within Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time, well-groomed in full uniform.
- Be hospitable, friendly, and polite with all guests, co-workers, and management.
- Maintain full knowledge of menu, wine list, and daily features.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service.
- Have a strong understanding of fine dining server philosophy and goals.
- Be knowledgeable of the standards of American Service and proper wine service.
- Greet all guests within one minute in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Serve and clear tables, replenish beverages as needed.
- Inquire about guest satisfaction within one to two minutes of main course being served.
- Handle check and cashiering procedures efficiently.
- Record and report guest reactions to service, food, comfort, and atmosphere.
- Maintain an attentive and discreet demeanor.
- Perform duties assigned by management.
- Assist all employees and work as a team.
- Be attentive to guests at all times and exceed expectations.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures pertaining to liquor laws.
- Be knowledgeable of Seneca Allegany Casino's history, property layout, and operating hours.
- Complete designated opening and closing side work daily.
- Maintain an understanding of information security policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Review information posted in designated area, including stations and upcoming events.
- Review log book upon start of work shift for special arrangements.
- Maintain a neat and organized work station.
- Keep wait stations clean, organized, and stocked.
- Pre-bus all tables.
- Responsible for general upkeep of the restaurant.
- Follow weekly designated side work duties.
- Visit all tables during service to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist guests with coats and chairs upon departure, thank them, and invite them to return.
- Follow all tip out procedures according to standards.
Requirements
- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition.
- Must remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Be organized and utilize time well.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proficient in large tray service.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the dining room for a lengthy period of time.
- Must be able to carry trays which may weigh up to fifty pounds.
- Must be able to assist with special needs of customers.
- Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
