About the Role
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), ranked #1 in Orthopedics, seeks a Physician Assistant to support Dr. Fealy. This role involves patient consultations, office duties, and serving as a first assist in the operating room, contributing to a high level of clinical care and service.
Responsibilities
- See patients for initial and follow-up visits.
- Perform office work.
- Act as a primary assistant to Dr. Fealy in the operating room.
- Conduct clinical evaluations of patients in the office.
- Counsel patients and families regarding proposed surgical procedures.
- Address pre- and post-operative patient questions and concerns.
- Provide surgical first assist in the operating room.
- Communicate effectively with outpatient staff and inpatient hospital teams.
- Interact closely with office staff, other PAs, patients, and families.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited PA program.
- Current NYS PA License.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- NCCPA board certification.
- Current Infection Control Certification.
- Completion of a child abuse recognition course.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team player.
- Surgical experience or training is preferred.
