About the Role
Assured Guaranty's Public Finance team is seeking interns to collaborate on U.S. Public Finance new business, including credit analysis, underwriting support, marketing, and secondary market execution. Interns will participate in a summer-ending capstone project involving underwriting a sample transaction.
Responsibilities
- Assist with requesting financial and deal information from data vendors and clients for underwriting software.
- Monitor and analyze market information for internal and external sharing.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and modeling to support credit analysts.
- Interact with credit analysts on deals and prepare them for underwriting.
- Support Product Development and Modernization by utilizing company-approved AI tools.
- Source new business opportunities in the municipal bond market using various platforms.
- Update marketing materials for new business efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work on a small team and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong willingness to learn new skills.
- Basic knowledge of fixed income or capital markets preferred.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL are necessary for some positions.
- Candidates studying finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, information technology, or similar subjects will be prioritized.
