About the Role
The Finance team at Assured Guaranty is seeking a summer intern for a 10-week assignment to assist with tax return preparation and financial statement disclosures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of GAAP and insurance statutory (SSAP #10) income tax provisions and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and related work papers including M-1/M-3 tax adjustment schedules for insurance and non-insurance companies.
- Assist in preparing state premium and municipal tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly federal and state estimated tax payment calculations along with extensions and related filings.
Requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Candidates studying finance or accounting will be prioritized.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Successful in a team-oriented setting
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)

Salary/Compensations
- $30 per hour to $32 per hour
