About the Role
This position works within the Workforce Development team in the Community Programs Unit to support learning opportunities for clients, aiming to improve their digital literacy, soft skills, occupational-specific hard skills, employability skills, and financial literacy to enhance employment and financial outcomes. The role reports to the Manager, Workforce Development, contributing to the design, development, coordination, implementation, and support of training activities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs and in-class training opportunities.
- Coordinate with Manager to assess training needs and objectives of different client groups.
- Ensure logistical details for workshops, including room setup, material duplication, and instructor coordination.
- Coordinate with external training providers for training-related services.
- Facilitate training courses regularly and as a backup facilitator.
- Support the index of training resources and management of training assets.
- Support the tracking of training participants’ status and results.
- Create and administer training feedback mechanisms, analyze results, and implement improvements.
- Coordinate staff and volunteers in outreach and promotion of training initiatives.
- Occasionally order and manage food functions.
- Apply best practice research into computer-based training curriculum.
- Identify, recommend, develop, and implement training programs to increase computer literacy.
- Oversee development and dissemination of help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists.
- Maintain the confidentiality of organizational, unit, program, staff, and client information.
- Engage in training seminars, conferences, and trade shows to upgrade skills.
- Ensure anti-racism objectives and community development principles are achieved.
- Participate in regular supervisory sessions, staff, and unit meetings.
- Carry out additional duties as identified by the Supervisor of Training and Evaluation.
- Travel to different WoodGreen locations occasionally and work extended periods at one location if needed.
Requirements
- University degree in Education, Adult Education, Human Resources, Social Services, or a related field.
- 1 year of work experience in Adult Education, Workforce Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies, and course design techniques.
- Proven experience using best practices to teach in-person and online classes.
