About the Role

As a Tutor with the fast-growing Green Skills team at Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES), you will make a powerful contribution to our success. Using your knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit, you will provide high-quality teaching for individuals seeking to develop practical skills and expertise in the construction and green skills sector. You will maximize outcomes by tracking and monitoring learners, providing detailed assessments, and offering advice, guidance, and encouragement to help learners reach their goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality teaching for people who want to develop their practical skills and expertise in the construction and green skills sector.
• Maximise outcomes by tracking and monitoring learners in line with service requirements.
• Maximise opportunities for positive progression by providing detailed assessments based on qualification specifications and awarding body requirements.
• Offer advice, guidance and encouragement to help learners reach their goals and ambitions.
• Support Managers and Course Leaders to achieve service targets.
• Plan and produce high quality lessons and programmes of work.
• Use appropriate diagnostics to ensure learners are on the correct course.
• Develop suitable resources.
• Provide high quality tutorials and one-to-one sessions.
• Carry out marking and assessments.
• Monitor each student’s progress.
• Complete class registers and course files, keeping them up to date.
• Monitor learners’ attendance and punctuality.
• Ensure any student who withdraws or transfers does so in accordance with WAES’s agreed timescales.

Requirements

• Proven experience of teaching and assessing learners in a post-16/further education/adult education setting.
• Ready to teach online using virtual learning environments.
• Willing to work in a flexible and adaptable way, as the programme may involve evening and Saturday classes.
• Work in the Westminster Way, empowering, engaging and encouraging colleagues to deliver the vision.
