About the Role
HSBC is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Vice President, Credit Risk Management - Institutional Client Group (ICG). This role involves managing and monitoring credit risks within a portfolio of traditional Hedge Funds and alternative funds, recommending credit limits and structures, and supporting various business teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor credit risks across a portfolio of traditional Hedge Funds and alternative funds
- Recommend appropriate credit limits, structures and risk mitigants within delegated authorities
- Support Sales, Trading and Relationship Management teams in delivering profitable, sustainable and well-controlled credit business
- Provide expert guidance on fund, geographic, sector and counterparty risks, including during client onboarding
- Work closely with WMR, Legal, Collateral Management and other internal stakeholders to resolve credit and documentation matters
- Maintain accurate risk information, databases and approvals, ensuring compliance with HSBC policies and control standards
- Identify opportunities to improve credit processes, approval turnaround times and business flows
- Support audit, regulatory and operational risk requirements, including ad-hoc funds-related projects
Requirements
- Able to evidence in-depth knowledge about the structures and operations of Hedge Funds and Institutional investment firms
- Demonstrate the relevant level of knowledge of Credit Risk and how it is applied in a Global Banking and Markets setting
- Have strong qualitative and quantitative analysis and financial modelling capabilities, and used to working with complex financial data
- High level of commercial awareness to be able to work with various sources of information to produce easily digestible reports and presentations
- Possess very good stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied internal and external audience
- Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities
- Have a firm understanding of the Risk and Control and Regulatory governance of Global Markets
