About the Role
Interac connects Canadians through secure digital payments, advanced identity verification, and industry-leading fraud protection. As the backbone of Canada’s financial ecosystem, Interac facilitates millions of transactions daily. This role is crucial for driving sales and relationship management strategies with key clients, including financial institutions and credit unions, to achieve commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account plans and proactively identify new sales and revenue generating opportunities.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures a profitable outcome for both Interac and its clients.
- Deepen existing relationships in an increasingly competitive environment.
- Foster productive relationships at all levels within client institutions and the Interac organization.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for client issues.
- Participate, lead, and represent Client Solutions at Advisory Committees with the designated functional department, as assigned.
- Support Product Development by participating at all points of the Interac Delivery model including sharing client strategies and priorities, socializing new concepts and testing solutions and business models with clients.
- Advocate on behalf of clients internally to ensure that the voice of clients is captured in future product and process enhancements.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree, ideally in Commerce or Business Administration.
- 10+ years of sales and relationship management experience in the financial services industry, preferably in payments.
- Demonstrated success in business development activities including prospecting and referrals.
- Proven experience in building trust and strong knowledge of relationship management practices.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Deep understanding of clients’ business including payment strategies across all product/service platforms.
- Strong payments knowledge, including debit & credit card issuing business required.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across all levels of an organization with divergent objectives.
- Demonstrated consultative sales skills and success in planning, managing, and closing complex sales.
- Excellent strategic thinking, planning, analytical and evaluative skills.
- Advanced communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to excellence in client, shareholder, and stakeholder relations and service.
- Ability to be comfortable with consistent business and organizational change.
- Solid decision-making, problem resolution, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
- Commitment to respectful collaboration with colleagues to promote efficient and constructive outcomes working with internal stakeholders.
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete background checks, which may include Canadian Criminal Credit Check, Canadian ID Cross-Check, Public Safety Verification, 5-year Employment Verification, Education Verification, Credit Check, and Social Media Check.
