About the Role
We are looking for a trainee patent attorney to join our dedicated team focused on mechanical engineering inventions and innovation. The role will include hands-on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact. You will have the opportunity to work across advanced manufacturing, materials, fluid dynamics and mechanical systems, with scope to move into medical devices and clean technologies. This is hands-on, high-impact work for market-leading engineering clients. Our attorneys are working with the most cutting edge suite of AI tools, driving up client satisfaction and attorney efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact
- Work across advanced manufacturing, materials, fluid dynamics and mechanical systems
- Scope to move into medical devices and clean technologies
- Work on complex, high-value matters from patent drafting to litigation
- Operate where technologies intersect - advanced manufacturing, materials, heavy engineering and beyond
- Learn alongside experts recognised for depth, rigour and results
Requirements
- Academic degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline
- Curious, analytical, and excited by challenging technology
- Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
- Meticulous attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently
- Motivated to develop your networking skills and contribute to business development
