About the Role
The COLUMBIA Class Ship’s Design Program Office is seeking a program representative to support COLUMBIA Class design completion. This role involves driving design closure, managing technical and financial roadblocks, and communicating with executive staff and the Navy. The position requires technical problem-solving, strong interpersonal, and communication skills, with flexible work hours and occasional work from home.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Engineering Functional Area Directorates, facilitate status meetings, and drive issues to resolution.
- Oversee material processes and procedures, identify gaps, and drive issues to closure.
- Create and analyze program metrics, identify issues, and lead corrective actions.
- Prepare and coordinate meetings to demonstrate progress, challenges, and resolution plans.
- Prepare reports and presentations for Program Reviews.
- Serve as a point of contact for and report various statuses to NAVSEA and EB senior management.
- Collaborate with engineering to drive solutions supporting technical and program objectives.
- De-conflict competing priorities and manage program risk.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience in MS Office, including PowerPoint presentations
- Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Project management experience
- Team leadership experience
- Highly motivated, self-starter capable of prioritizing work
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interface effectively with upper management
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering (Preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field (Test, ILS, etc) (Preferred)
- Understanding of EB business and financial processes, including earned value management (EVM), manpower planning, integrated master schedule (IMS) development and cost estimating (Preferred)
- Understanding of EB’s engineering, design, planning, manufacturing, test and ILS practices (Preferred)
- Experience working with TeamCenter, Microsoft Access, risk management (Preferred)
- Experience working with SUPSHIPs and NAVSEA is highly desirable (Preferred)
- Active Secret clearance (Preferred)
