About the Role
Proactively manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. Develop Infrastructure as Code Modules and Scripts to automate operational functions and processes. Triage support requests and perform preliminary investigations. Write knowledge base articles and runbooks. Send internal and external communications for scheduled maintenance and high-priority incidents. Create, maintain, and share technical documentation. Adapt to new skills and technologies. Provide 24/7 on-call support via rotations.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of cloud infrastructure, server resources, systems and key processes.
- Review system and application logs.
- Verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, live data feeds, and batch processing.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code Modules and Scripts to automate operational functions and processes.
- Triage all support requests and perform preliminary investigation for all reported issues.
- Write knowledge base articles and runbooks for commonly asked questions or frequently reported issues.
- Send internal and external communications for scheduled maintenance and high-priority major incidents.
- Perform tasks with competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members.
- Adapt seamlessly to the organization and the customers we serve.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills and technology.
- Actively take part in ongoing training.
- Provides 24/7 on-call support via rotations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years as a Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Platform Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer within a Large Financial Institution (LFI) in a multi-cloud environment or related occupation.
- Expertise in multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, GCP, and OCI) and enterprise scale deployments.
- Proficiency in computer programming languages (Bash, Python, Go, Powershell, Node, and Java).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, and CDK) for automated provisioning of infrastructure for Operational Resilience.
- Strong skills in Cloud Security, Cloud Networking, Containerization, Identity Management, regulatory compliance (SOC2, PCI-DSS, FFIEC, CIS, and industry standard compliance frameworks Cloud Security Alliance).
- Expertise in designing and embedding preventive and detective controls based on CCM v4 in CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows supporting Cloud Native and Hybrid architectures (Public + Private Cloud).
- Strong expertise with Cloud monitoring and observability tools for operational resiliency.
- Intermediate experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Ability to collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, CyberSecurity and Risk Teams.
- Experience in large regulated financial institutions, ensuring alignment with Governance, Audit and Compliance Standards.
