About the Role
As a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist, you will report to the Practice Manager and play a crucial role in providing sincere care and ensuring the safety of our guests. You will perform x-rays under the provider's direction and offer outstanding clinical support through effective communication and understanding of guest needs.
Responsibilities
- Take initial x-rays per DOC protocol and any follow-up x-rays at the Provider’s discretion.
- Provide a genuine welcome to all guests, leading hospitality efforts by maintaining a courteous, attentive, and professional manner.
- Follow all protocols to reduce anxiety, provide explanations of treatment, and ensure guests depart with all questions answered.
- Manage guest flow, including rooming guests, taking vitals, setting up injections, obtaining prior authorizations for injections, taking inventory/ordering supplies, educating guests, and applying DME.
- Apply safety techniques, register guests in PACS, and transport guests between rooms.
- Check-in guests, collect demographic information, verify insurance coverage, and collect copays.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure PHI is secure at all times, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate guest flow by notifying providers and team members of guest arrivals, managing delays, and maintaining continuous communication.
- Minimize radiation exposure to guests and team members by practicing radiation protection techniques and adhering to DOC protocols.
- Input CPT codes in EMR.
- Ensure radiology equipment operates correctly by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, scheduling repairs, and maintaining equipment inventory and service history.
- Assist providers with guest care by documenting care using EMR and PAC technology.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements.
- Maintain and evolve professional and technical knowledge.
