About the Role
Improve patient health through an innovative, patient-focused culture dedicated to making a difference in the communities served.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure quality food service is provided at all times.
- Perform hot food preparation, including accompaniments and garnishes.
- Prepare hot entrees, soups, and vegetables following recipes and special diet orders.
- Serve eye-appealing, tasty food items.
- Complete food temperature checks and taste all food items prepared.
- Complete preparation records and store food items properly.
- Perform advance food preparation as indicated.
- Clean work area and equipment, and follow cleaning schedules.
- Assist in maintaining food storage areas.
- Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire safety procedures and assist with evacuations.
- Take necessary precautions for lifting and bending.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment to prevent injuries.
- Ensure hot food preparation and assembly is done according to procedures.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and hazardous conditions immediately.
- Cooperate with staff of other departments.
- Provide a clean, safe, and neat environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care and employee information, and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum one year food service experience and/or (2) year culinary degree.
- Ability to work well independently given proper direction.
- Ability to cope with some problems and confer with Team Leader on unusual problems.
- Reading/Writing/Comprehension skills.
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Occasional crouching, kneeling, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, stooping.
- Frequent balancing, typing/ clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, lifting pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking.
- Constant fit testing.
- Occasional electrical hazards.
- Frequent bodily fluids/ bloodborne exposure, burns, chemical hazards.
- Frequent extreme temperatures and noise in working conditions.
- No travel required.
