About the Role
The CSSO serves all inpatient units, the Emergency Department, and Support Services with their staffing and scheduling needs. The CSSO supports staffing and scheduling activities across the hospital, working closely with staff and leaders to ensure unit and department needs are met. The full-time, temporary (1 year) Scheduling Clerk will play an integral role in ensuring that all in-scope unit/departments are staffed in an operationally safe and cost-efficient manner at all times.
Responsibilities
- Resolve basic scheduling queries
- Maintain and update the scheduling system for accuracy
- Coordinate staffing matters through Oracle
- Assess and triage scheduling cases
- Escalate complex issues to the Scheduling Specialist and Manager/COCL
- Problem solve and troubleshoot
- Communicate staffing changes and updates to relevant departments
- Provide administrative support to the CSSO team
- Prepare and distribute staff schedules
- Ensure staffing profiles are accurate and up to date
Requirements
- Post secondary program
- Up to 1 year of scheduling experience
- Experience in a hospital setting or other fast-paced environment preferred
- Experience with scheduling and procurement software is an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Comfortable with technology and able to learn new software quickly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of privacy legislation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and external contacts
- Excellent customer service skills
