About the Role
Tioga Downs is seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Engineer to maintain and enhance its property, ensuring the grounds are safe, clean, and visually appealing for guests and team members. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors, stay active, and make a visible impact.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles as needed
- Perform routine groundskeeping, including mowing and trimming around walkways, flower beds, and buildings
- Maintain landscaping by planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, raking, and pruning
- Keep sidewalks clean and clear of debris; shovel snow and apply ice melt during winter
- Assist with setup and teardown of special events
- Maintain cleanliness and security of maintenance buildings and surrounding areas
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs in barn areas as directed
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction
- Physically demanding role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently)
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, around equipment, and in environments that may include noise, strong odors, and horse-related cleanup
