Responsibilities
- Ensure routine fabric maintenance meets or exceeds expectations and SLAs.
- Carry out reactive tasks to meet or exceed expectations and SLAs.
- Perform all moves and changes as required by the client.
- Undertake painting, decorating, and DIY tasks to maintain decorative standards.
- Manage loading, unloading, and safe storage of stock and equipment.
- Perform lamp replacement and cleaning of lighting diffusers according to safety rules.
- Assist the engineering team with planned and reactive engineering activities.
- Complete and submit paperwork for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works promptly.
- Assist the Water Treatment Engineer with Water Management System logbooks.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for supervisor sign-off.
- Verify and check RAMS with engineers, supervisors, and contract staff before use.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records where applicable.
- Undertake lone working with appropriate training and safety measures.
- Develop good working relationships with BGIS subcontractors and client staff.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing uniform and PPE.
- Comply with all company, client, and site policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image of BGIS and the client, promoting excellent customer service.
- Maintain fabric and engineering skills through personal development.
- Keep BGIS and client storage areas safe and tidy.
- Assist with routine daily and weekly plant checks.
- Keep equipment storage areas clean and tidy daily.
- Escort visiting subcontractors and ensure RAMS are reviewed.
- Ensure plant rooms are locked and kept clean and tidy.
- Complete tasks with appropriate H&S awareness and implementation.
- Assist in the operation of a Permit to Work System.
- Produce near miss reports, dynamic risk assessments, and detailed site activity records.
- Challenge and escalate noncompliance where necessary.
Requirements
- Less than 4 years of experience within the M&E industry prohibits writing access & permits to work where RAMS have been signed off by the supervisor/contract manager.
- GMOs with less than 4 years of experience may attend PTW training for knowledge only.
- No GMO will have the authority to write electrical permits.
