About the Role
We are seeking a professional to conceptualize and develop modern solutions for the management, processing, and integration of geospatial data. This role involves designing data architectures and models for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure data, as well as developing and optimizing data integration and transformation processes.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop modern solutions for the management, processing, and integration of geospatial data.
- Design data architectures and models for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure data.
- Develop and optimize data integration and transformation processes using technologies like ArcGIS and FME.
- Advise clients on selecting and further developing suitable GIS, database, and system architectures.
- Analyze requirements and translate them into technical target states, interfaces, and solution concepts.
- Support proof-of-concepts, technical validations, and the transition of solutions into productive operation.
- Moderate workshops and communicate technical contexts to clients and stakeholders in an audience-appropriate manner.
- Take on technical responsibility in projects and actively contribute expertise to the engineering community.
Requirements
- Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Data Engineering, Geodesy, or a comparable field.
- Several years of professional experience in Data Engineering, GIS, Geodata Management, or a comparable technical environment.
- Very good knowledge of Esri ArcGIS, ideally with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Practical experience with FME for transformation, integration, and processing of geospatial data.
- Very good knowledge of relational and spatial databases, especially PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
- Sound knowledge of geospatial data models, georeferencing, coordinate systems, and spatial data processing.
- Good to very good knowledge of Python.
- Experience in 3D geospatial data and ideally with BIM, CAD, and GIS integrations.
- Experience in technical consulting, system design, and workshop moderation.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Ideally, certification in the Esri or FME environment, e.g., as ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional or FME Certified Professional.
- Very good communication skills in German and English.
- Willingness to travel as part of consulting activities.
