About the Role

As a Junior Fund Operations Associate, you will be an essential member of the operations team, reporting to the Head of Finance & Ops. You will gain a close-up view of VC fund operations, with opportunities for process ownership and strategic projects. The role involves a mix of finance and operations, with a focus on data collection, cash flow management, fund accounting, governance, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Collect KPIs and annual accounts for portfolio companies.
Own the consistency of portfolio monitoring.
Assist with short-term cash flow planning for funds.
Co-own payment execution, capital calls, and invoice processing.
Run preparatory bookkeeping.
Assist with regulatory reporting (Bundesbank, AWV, FATCA, CRS).
Support investment committee reviews.
Support PFIC-testing.
Assist with board seat administration.
Support investor data collection.
Partner with the AML-Officer on business partner due diligence.
Manage financial statement administration.
Support legal and operations on transactions.
Apply process and data thinking to automation and AI-driven initiatives.

Requirements

One to three years of relevant experience in an operations department of a VC/PE/family office, fund administrator, Big4/Next10 firm, startup, bank, or similar.
Excellent analytical and finance skills.
Strong self-organization and task prioritization abilities.
Ability to work autonomously and as a strong team player.
Down to earth mentality with excellent communication skills and empathy.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with workload swings.
Strong Excel and Google Workspace skills.
Comfortable navigating the AI ecosystem and hands-on with AI agents/workflows.
Fluent in written and spoken English and German.
