About the Role
A 20-year-old male in the Eastwood area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him at home. He needs help with daily activities, including getting off the school bus, engaging in activities at home and in the community, and personal care. He enjoys sensory activities, car rides, and exploring parks, nature, and libraries. The ideal candidate will be creative, engaging, active, patient, and willing to learn his communication methods.
Responsibilities
- Assist with getting off the school bus.
- Engage in activities at home and in the community.
- Provide personal care when needed.
- Lift and push a wheelchair.
- Accompany the individual to parks, enjoy nature, and visit libraries.
- Utilize technology to download multiple apps for community use.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license required.
- Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance required.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
- Must abide by Indera's technology policy.
