About the Role

Responsibilities
- Assist clients in routine shelter activities such as meals, laundry, and housekeeping.
- Respond to client and shelter emergencies and notify appropriate personnel.
- Advocate for clients to suggest appropriate programs and services.
- Explain and maintain shelter policies and procedures.
- Assist in routine shelter maintenance.
- Maintain guidelines established by funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. with three (3) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience working with a specific population preferred.
- N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.
Skills
- Customer service skills.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children/adults in a challenging and active environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
