About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular full-time Graphic Designer/Multimedia Designer to join the Integrated Marketing team. This team develops and executes marketing strategies to build the brand, expand the donor base, and enhance donor loyalty. The role involves converting ideas into visual assets for various channels, including social media, web, marketing collateral, and motion graphics, with a strong understanding of marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Design and redesign graphics, illustrations, advertisements, brochures, and other visual communication materials.
  • Create visual assets for marketing materials, websites, and other media, including simple animated assets and infographics.
  • Support the maintenance of the online resource library by organizing and packaging files for reuse.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and regional donor relations teams to create cohesive designs aligned with corporate culture and brand vision.
  • Develop new design concepts, graphics, layouts, videos, and motion graphics while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Amend final designs based on client feedback and secure approval.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously based on client workload.
  • Develop templated resources in editable formats to support business needs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education plus related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Ability to interact, communicate, and present ideas.
  • Experience using graphic design tools such as Adobe CC – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Experience editing short and long-form video and/or creating simple motion graphics using industry tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro), including exporting optimized assets for social and web.
  • Experience creating and updating templates built in Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks while being flexible.
  • Strong personal initiative and a passion for the cause.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability, and originality.
