About the Role
The Director of Transportation Safety is responsible for ensuring employees across the organization follow safety programs and procedures within the transportation industry. A strong understanding of state and federal safety regulations and requirements is essential. This role will work closely with the operations team to ensure safe and compliant performance and promote a strong culture of safety, efficiency, and high standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the entire workplace follows industry, state, and company-related safety guidelines.
- Conduct routine safety audits.
- Carry out safety training programs for employees.
- Develop processes for collecting data on accident causes.
- Implement initiatives to reduce work-related accidents and occupational hazards.
- Direct and supervise general safety guidelines and procedures.
- Investigate accidents to determine causes.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to safety policies and laws.
- Inspect equipment and machinery for unsafe conditions.
- Report required safety adjustments to top management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of safety management experience.
- One (1) year of supervisor experience.
Skills
- Strong understanding of state and federal safety regulations and requirements.
Experience Level
- 3 years safety management experience
- 1 year supervisor experience
Education Level
- College Degree in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Business Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
