About the Role
As a Datacenter Strategist, you will analyze existing datacenter, infrastructure, and operational environments through assessments, developing robust strategies for datacenters, infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and modernization. You will also design target architectures, transformation roadmaps, and provide decision-making foundations for complex IT landscapes. This role involves evaluating solution options based on cost, risk, security, scalability, and operability, and deriving actionable recommendations. You will translate IT security and regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA, NIS2, BAIT, KAIT, VAIT, ZAIT) into architectural and governance measures. Additionally, you will advise clients on sourcing, standardization, modernization, cloud integration, and operational excellence, and lead workshops and presentations for various stakeholder levels. Project leadership in assessments and transformation initiatives, collaboration with datacenter engineers and technology teams, and support for presales activities are also key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing datacenter, infrastructure, and operational environments through assessments.
- Develop robust datacenter, infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and modernization strategies.
- Design technical target architectures, transformation roadmaps, and decision-making foundations for complex IT landscapes.
- Evaluate solution options based on cost, risk, security, scalability, and operability.
- Derive actionable recommendations from solution evaluations.
- Translate IT security and regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA, NIS2, BAIT, KAIT, VAIT, ZAIT) into architectural and governance measures.
- Advise clients on sourcing, standardization, modernization, cloud integration, and operational excellence.
- Conceive and moderate workshops for specialist, IT, and management levels.
- Present results, solution concepts, and recommendations confidently to clients.
- Lead assessments, strategy projects, and selected transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with datacenter engineers and other technology and consulting teams.
- Support presales, acquisition, and proposal creation.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
- Possess several years of experience in IT consulting, IT architecture, or infrastructure strategy.
- Have a broad understanding of modern datacenter technologies, including server, storage, virtualization, backup and recovery, monitoring, and cloud/hyperscaler technologies.
- Experience in designing IT architectures, IT strategies, and transformation concepts.
- Ability to translate technical, economic, and operational requirements into viable solutions.
- Familiarity with methods and best practices in Operational Excellence, IT Service Management, and IT Security.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and security requirements.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as DORA, NIS2, or BAIT, KAIT, VAIT, and ZAIT is ideal.
- Ability to prepare complex technical contexts for specialist departments, IT managers, and management.
- Experience in moderating workshops and creating convincing decision papers and presentations.
- Possess in-depth AI expertise and actively shape its responsible use.
- Act as an enabler for clients and internally at adesso.
- Very good German and good English language skills for confident communication.
