About the Role
As a Software Engineer III on the Accelerator Business Platform team, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating the cloud-native platform infrastructure that empowers product teams to innovate rapidly and securely. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep platform engineering expertise within a collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to the design and development of composable infrastructure systems and capabilities.
- Build, operate, and maintain Kubernetes-based platform services, developer self-service tooling, and CI/CD workflows.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring operational issues.
- Provide operational support for production systems in a "you-build-it-you-run-it" culture, including incident response.
- Apply platform security and controls practices through infrastructure as code, policy as code, and hardening standards.
- Continuously expand knowledge of cloud-native technologies and platform engineering practices.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with software development, testing, and troubleshooting in a professional or project-based environment.
- Proficiency, or a strong working foundation, in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, or Kotlin.
- Working understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and secure development practices.
- Foundational understanding of cloud and container technologies, including core Kubernetes concepts.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow within cloud-native platform engineering on a major cloud provider (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
