About the Role
Platform Services is responsible for extending DoorDash beyond the consumer marketplace, owning business lines like Drive, Parcels, and Enterprise. This role will lead engineering-wide initiatives across these areas, collaborating with various leaders to deliver logistics capabilities for external businesses. Programs will involve backend services, integrations, operational tooling, and platform interfaces, requiring technical judgment, cross-organizational coordination, stakeholder management, and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Drive Platform Services’ most strategic programs, partnering with Engineering, Product, Strategy & Operations, and cross-functional teams.
- Lead complex cross-organization execution by establishing clear ownership, surfacing dependencies, and driving alignment.
- Bring technical depth and systems thinking to understand architecture, integrations, data flows, and operational systems.
- Turn ambiguity into strategy and action by framing problems, clarifying success definitions, and creating execution paths.
- Connect engineering execution to business outcomes by understanding merchant, partner, customer, and economic impacts.
Requirements
- Experienced in working with engineering teams on large-scale distributed systems and/or b2b products.
- Ability to speak to system architecture, scalability and reliability decisions, and design trade offs.
- Strong leader with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across organizations.
- Ability to bridge gaps between teams and successfully influence without authority.
- Strong ownership, urgency, and drive; willing to roll up sleeves and dive into details.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills with confidence, clarity, and focus.
- Ability to communicate concepts and considerations to non-experts and experts alike.
- Engaged with Engineering teams on product & platform development with a thorough understanding of software development processes and project planning.
- Pragmatic and detailed approach, focusing on progress, not perfection.
