About the Role

Provide support for hearing-impaired students to communicate with teaching/support staff and other students, facilitating optimal access to the curriculum through interpretation and alternative teaching strategies. Support students in accessing campus, enrichment, and extracurricular activities. Raise awareness of hearing impairment and build the profile of Communication Support within the college community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a helpful, professional, and flexible service to internal or external customers.
  • Act in accordance with College values and represent Barnet and Southgate College positively.
  • Operate in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures.
  • Act in a safe manner, safeguarding the health and safety of yourself and others.
  • Be aware of equality and diversity, and the needs of customers and learners.
  • Comply with the College’s safeguarding requirements for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Participate in and take responsibility for your own learning and development.
  • Provide cover or support for other team members and undertake other duties as required by your line manager.
  • Attend other Barnet and Southgate College campuses if required.
