About the Role
AECOM is seeking Graduate Electrical Engineers to join their Water teams, contributing to major UK water company projects. This role offers engagement in all design stages and the opportunity to utilize and shape digital solutions within the design process.
Responsibilities
- Support senior and lead electrical engineers in the development and management of electrical design for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects.
- Produce power supply capacity assessments and load calculations.
- Produce electrical single line and cable block diagrams.
- Produce cable calculations and cable schedules.
- Produce lighting design specifications.
- Produce Motor Control Centres (MCC)/Control Panel specifications including Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) scopes.
- Produce electrical specification documents.
- Utilize Amtech and Electrical OM software design programs.
- Liaise with internal and external design teams, clients, and contractors.
- Provide timely reporting to clients and internal team leads.
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers on projects from concept to detailed design.
- Assist in shaping and using AECOM’s digital solutions, including BIM, ProjectWise, and intelligent P&IDs.
Requirements
- MEng in Electrical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent) preferred.
- Relevant work experience is an advantage.
- Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
- Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills are essential.
- Willing and able to work towards professional qualifications such as Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the relevant institution (e.g., IET).
- Demonstrable interest in water projects.
- Ability to structure and prioritize work effectively through close cooperation with the team.
- Ability to work independently without losing initiative and focus.
- Must have permanent right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered.
- Required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
