About the Role
As an intern, you will work alongside experienced practitioners and clients to solve complex challenges, gaining practical skills and building your network. This role offers hands-on experience in the mechanical discipline, assisting with designs for various facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers in preparing reports, design documents, and calculations.
- Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel.
- Prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Participate in a Summer Intern Design Project with interns from other building design disciplines.
Requirements
- Ability to report to the office in New York City.
- Some fieldwork may be required.
Skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills using sound engineering judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Strong work ethic and motivation to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
- Working knowledge of heat transfer calculations.
- Commitment to a culture of safety.
