About the Role

We are seeking a junior quantitative researcher with expertise in agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and CMOs. This role involves a balance between supporting live trading analytics and conducting independent research into new return opportunities, with a strong emphasis on AI integration.

Responsibilities

Assist senior portfolio managers and researchers in identifying profitable trading strategies and alphas.
Research, scope, and onboard new securitized markets and sectors.
Enhance the systematic trading platform for securitized products, staying current with market trends and research.
Conduct novel research on trading signals, prepayment modeling, pricing, and hedging.
Utilize AI tools to improve the efficiency and impact of research and trading activities.

Requirements

A degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
Minimum of one year of experience working with agency MBS in a buy-side, dealer, or analytics vendor capacity.
Proficiency in applied statistics and programming, with the ability to distinguish significant results from noise and write readable, testable code.
Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas in an understandable manner.
