About the Role

CIMT College is seeking an instructor to teach the Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) program. The role involves following provided courseware and materials to train students for employment, with an emphasis on professional conduct and hands-on training.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials.
Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, independent or group projects.
Employ appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies.
Administer and mark quizzes, assignments, exams, and other assessments.
Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly.
Provide feedback on student performance.
Arrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each course.
Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment.
Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude.
Maintain attendance records accurately.
Ensure classrooms are left clean and orderly at the end of class without loss or damage to equipment or resources.
Provide support to the admissions team with potential students.
Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events.
Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information.
Stay current in the subject matter through professional development.
Display an attitude of teamwork and problem solving.
Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum 60 months of work experience in the vocation.
Current membership in the provincial association for ECEs.
Must be available to teach online as per the accepted schedule.

Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Professional business attire.
Interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model.
Online teaching capabilities (computer skills are essential).
