About the Role
This role involves working closely with the Early Talent Development Team Lead to deliver exceptional service to Trainees and key stakeholders throughout their Training Contract lifecycle. You will manage various HR-related activities for the Trainee Lawyer population.
Responsibilities
- Manage HR-related people activities for Trainee Lawyers.
- Identify Trainee resource needs in collaboration with Trainee Partners, Resource Managers, and HR Business Partnering.
- Monitor Trainee utilization for resource allocation.
- Provide support and act as the primary contact for SQE and allocated Trainee cohorts.
- Conduct career development meetings with Trainees to discuss performance, development, and preferences.
- Lead the qualification process for Trainees.
- Process client and international secondments in accordance with policy.
- Provide support and guidance to Trainees undertaking secondments.
- Lead pre-training contract presentations.
- Liaise with Education Managers regarding practice area induction and group training.
- Manage and deliver supervisor training interventions and resources.
- Collaborate with the Academy team to drive learning and development initiatives for Trainees.
- Provide development and coaching support to Trainees.
- Support and lead early talent projects, such as the Trainee Learning Curriculum.
- Support the relationship with the chosen education provider.
- Manage key supplier relationships, including contract and service renewal.
- Work with Partners and HR teams on inclusion and diversity initiatives.
- Advise on employee relations issues, including grievance, disciplinary, and sickness absence cases.
- Ensure the communication and implementation of employee relations policies.
- Conduct exit interviews and gather feedback from leavers.
- Provide feedback and guidance on employment proposition and practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business.
Requirements
- Relevant experience working in HR, ideally as an Early Talent Development specialist or HR Business Partner.
- Proven experience managing early talent programs, including development and performance management processes.
- Experience building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted advisor on talent-related issues.
- Experience gained from a large and complex organisation (legal or professional services).
- Good understanding of a Partnership Culture.
