About the Role
Manage all aspects of the manufacturing operations for assigned shift.
Responsibilities
- Meet established safety, quality, line efficiency, yield, cost per case, and customer service goals/standards.
- Manage hourly employees, including hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, training, development, performance evaluations, and attendance records.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems.
- Review material transactions and complete production work orders.
- Enforce safety and housekeeping rules and policies.
- Supervise 10+ hourly employees.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals.
- Maintain employee work schedules, including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off.
- Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates Degree with 3-5 years supervisory experience in a production setting, preferred.
- Experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry and/or high-speed packaged consumer goods manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Experience in department cost control and budget management.
- Excellent Leadership capability - ability to motivate and influence others.
- Lean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experience.
