About the Role
AHRC NYC is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for their Staten Island Group home residences. This role involves supporting neurodivergent children and adults by assisting with daily living skills, promoting skill development, and ensuring safety and health.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of all safety and health considerations.
- Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies.
- Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs).
- Performing other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.
Requirements
- Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
- Professionalism, integrity, and excellent communication skills.
- Patience is a MUST.
- Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, and the exercise of their rights in various settings.
- Ability to use a computer for data entry.
- Weekend availability needed for most positions.
- Drivers License Required for 40hr Evening Shifts.
- Drivers License NOT Required for 30hr Weekend Overnight.
