This role is integral to the Ports, Coastal and Offshore team, contributing expertise in coastal processes, strategic planning, feasibility studies, climate resilience, and engineering design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop ports, coastal and offshore projects.
  • Develop skills in project management, business development, and driving sustainability in the marine environment.
  • Contribute to coastal erosion and flood risk feasibility studies.
  • Develop coastal management plans, including Strategies, business cases, and coastal change adaptation plans.
  • Conduct flood risk and coastal erosion options studies.
  • Perform climate risk and vulnerability assessments.
  • Support design and planning for offshore and marine renewable developments, including hazard mapping and cable burial risk assessments.
  • Conduct GIS mapping, spatial analysis, and coastal data interpretation.
  • Perform coastal numerical modelling and metocean studies.
  • Develop marine nature-based solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements).
  • Masters degree obtained no earlier than 2025, or expected to achieve one in Coastal Science or Oceanography.
  • Genuine interest in the opportunity and in joining Mott MacDonald.
