About the Role

The Digital Solutions team develops and supports a diverse range of bespoke and product-based software systems for clients across the UK and internationally. We provide a dynamic, project-oriented development environment, with teams involved in the full lifecycle of system delivery. Our primary domain is in the Transport sector, solving real-world problems for clients that manage transport networks and own all forms of transport assets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support bespoke and product-based software systems.
  • Engage in the full lifecycle of system delivery, from requirements definition through design, development, platform configuration, and live system support.
  • Contribute to projects within the Transport sector, solving real-world problems for clients managing transport networks and assets.
  • Provide technical input across multiple domains for projects within Mott MacDonald.
  • Support the company's carbon neutral certification through technical input.

Requirements

  • Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements).
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (obtained no earlier than 2025) or expected to achieve one in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other software-related disciplines with significant Java, C#, and/or Python content.
  • Must be eligible to achieve security clearance (normally requires being a UK British national or having lived in the UK for five years or more).
  • Demonstrate genuine interest in the opportunity and Mott MacDonald.
  • Highlight relevant experience or interests such as modules studied, previous work experience, or research about the company.
  • Answer application questions with authenticity.
  • Proactively take initiative to complete tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Deliver high-quality written work with strong attention to detail and clarity.
  • Demonstrate a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Not be working under the Graduate visa route or other time-limited visas requiring sponsorship.
  • Be eligible for alternative immigration routes in the UK that do not require sponsorship as a Skilled Worker.
