About the Role
As a coastal engineer, you will be involved in a wide range of technical work including inspection and appraisal of existing coastal structures, optioneering studies for coastal protection and enhancement, waterfront development and marina masterplanning, design of coastal and flood structures, beach and coastal asset management, engineering appraisal and specification of nature-based solutions, and stakeholder engagement.

- Design of coastal and flood structures: from concept through to detailed design
- Beach and coastal asset management
- Engineering appraisal and specification of nature-based solutions and environmental enhancements
- Stakeholder engagement
Requirements
- Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements)
- Masters degree (obtained no earlier than 2025) or expected to achieve one in Civil engineering or Coastal engineering
- Demonstrate genuine interest in the opportunity and in joining Mott MacDonald
- Highlight relevant experience or interests such as modules studied, previous work experience, or research about the company, values, and projects
- Proactively takes initiative to complete tasks efficiently and independently
- Communicates effectively and clearly with clients and colleagues
- Delivers high quality written work with strong attention to detail and clarity
- Demonstrates a structured and analytical approach to problem solving
- Not eligible for Graduate visa route or other time-limited visas requiring sponsorship
- Eligible for alternative immigration routes in the UK that do not require sponsorship
